Black and Blue

I’ve spent decades wondering if my experience as an upper-middle-class white 6th grade kid bussed across town to a mostly black school did any good.

It did, but not enough. And there still hasn’t enough change to justify anyone saying “look at the progress we’ve made.” Yet every step towards justice is a good one, however small it may be.

Black and Blue is written by Robert Tully and performed by him with Sam Garza and Melinda Messenger-Stout. Black Lives Matter.
